Our Plant Nursery has a one way system in place, social distancing measures and hand sanitizer on hand.
Holwood Nursery is located one mile from Somersham on the B1050 between the fenland towns of Somersham and Chatteris.
Holwood Nursery is a family owned retail plant nursery. Most of the plants on sale have been grown on site. If not grown on site, then, the plants have been grown by other specialist nursery growers within the Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire area. Our prices are very competitive and we put a lot of time into the care of our plants. We offer our customers help and advice if they require it.
We are offering a free local home delivery service on a minimum spend of £24.00 for people who cannot get out or simply don’t want to. Just telephone or email us and leave your telephone number and we will contact you. You can find further photos etc. on our yell.com site and Facebook. During lockdown we made a lot of local deliveries and met many new people, thank you to those of you who came out to see us once we were able to open again back in May. We have met new customers this year who were looking for a smaller and quieter garden centre than the large outlets. Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding the plant quality and choice we offer, over the winter months we will be creating new areas to extend the range of plants and products.
Something else we can do is take in your unwanted plant pots and trays, as long as they are in good condition, we can clean them and reuse.
You will find a quiet and friendly atmosphere here. We have chairs dotted around for our customers to have a sit down as they stroll about the nursery. We have on hand a wheelchair, adult walking frame and toilet. Also a small play area for the children.
Throughout the year we stock- glazed and terracotta pots, compost, canes, trellis, flower and vegetable seeds, ornamental trees and shrubs, fruit trees and fruit bushes, vegetable plants, perennials and alpines, rose bushes, planted pots and hanging baskets, coal, logs and kindling and gardening sundries to name but a few . Also free range eggs (our own hens).
As well as the products listed above, here is a guide of the additional stock we have through the seasons.
